December 27- Day 1

Well, like i said before. It was quite the task getting everyone on the team here at the same time. I flew out Monday morning at 6 am and made it here right on schedule with only 7 others of 22. After sorting through all the craziness of changing flights and uncertainties of what everyone was doing, my heart was thrilled to be stepping into this country again. With less than half our team here, our planned schedule wasn't going to work so well. We more or less took it easy that day and grabbed some food near the airport then went to a market to buy some rice, beans and other groceries for the week.
The woman who we bought from at the market is a woman the missionaries here had come to know from her working at the mission house, Villa Gracia, where many groups stay. She opened a little stand in the market so it was great to be able to support her!
While we were there I met 2 kids running around and playing, not to mention facinated with the group of gringos that just walked by. I went over and started to play with them and found out their names were Patricia and Jose. They were 7 and 8 years old and TOO cute! As I was distracted by these two, Jen Wright was talking with a family of 3 siblings who were completely high from sniffing glue. Glue sniffing is a huge common problem here. It is one of the cheapest highs you can find and it helps kill hunger pains. As we were leaving the market Jen bought them food and traded them for their bottles of glue. She brought them over to us and we all prayed for them and the family. It's awesome when God uses something like a quick run the the market to use us for Him and to open our eyes. I pray that Jen's actions touched these kids lives and they will be able overcome this addiction.
